B1 HF antenna

Old HF antenna modification
1) Addition of 14 MHz & 18 MHz antennae
As the propagation condition on 18 MHz looks very nice, a 1/4 element dedicated to 18 MHz was added, and at the same time, that to 14 MHz was also installed.
In parallel with the existing 7.6-m element, 5.0-m and 4.0-m elements were connected to the AH-4 antenna terminal. The 3 elements did not show any sign of interference between themAand worked satisfactorily. The antennae outlook, however, became like those on a small fishing boat, as in the picture.
After operations for about a month, I became to feel somewhat awkward in the fact that for instance I operate on the 4.0-m element even if 7.6 m-element is standing side by side. In addition, the conspicuous oulook is problematic.
2) 18 MHz vertical dipole with Zepp feeding
As one of the solutions, I abandoned the two added elements, and extended the 7.6-m element somewhat so that it works as a 18 MHz vertical dipole of 8.0 m long, with feeding at the bottom, i.e., zepp feed. This worked fine. For other bands than 18 MHz, I intended to switch to the AH-4 side by a relay. However yet another way seemed feasible, this plan was cancelled,
